HAND PTO NEWS

            Welcome to the new school year from Hand PTO!  The PTO is a great group of parents, teachers, and staff who are dedicated to improving the education of our students.  We start by raising money (through a fundraiser beginning this month), which allows us to fund many worthwhile projects throughout the school year.  The PTO has funded: classroom sets of dictionaries and other books, science materials, an improved P.A. system, various awards and activities for the students, recognitions for the teachers, and much more. 

            If you would like to get involved in the life of Hand Middle School, you can fill out the attached Volunteer Opportunity sheet and return it to school with your child.  If you would like to help financially, you can become a Hand PTO Supporter (another form attached).  Last, but not least, you are invited to all the PTO meetings to learn more about what’s going on at Hand.  Everything’s informal, informative – and fun!

            This year’s PTO President is Lisa Wilcox (252-1180; Rwilcox369@earthlink.net).  The Volunteer Coordinator is Whitney McDuffie (783-5418; wmcduffie@sc.rr.com).  Please call if you have questions, or can help.  We’re looking forward to a terrific year!
