Greetings Hand Family:
It is with great excitement that I invite you to support our second annual math auction at Hand Middle School. “The Learn To Earn Math Auction” is our 8th grade incentive program that will encourage our students to set academic goals while taking an opportunity to reinforce the basic skills of mathematics. Through attendance, grades, teacher incentive programs and awards the students will earn “auction dollars”. Then in May 2007, we will have a silent auction.
In order to make this event a true success we at Hand need your support. We are in the process of soliciting prize donations from our business partners, neighboring vendors, local restaurants and autographs from celebrities. At the auction the students will get the opportunity to use their hard earned auction dollars to bid on these prizes. We want to make sure we have something for everyone. If you would like to aid in making this possible, your assistance would be welcomed. Prizes can include, but are not limited to, gift certificates, games, gift cards, educational tools, etc. Be creative! Also, if you have the resources to encourage businesses or organizations to contribute, we would appreciate that too. Just forward to me a name, address and phone number and I would be glad to send them the information. We would like to have all donations no later than April 1, 2006. This will allow us time to adequately prepare for the big event in May. Documentation for the donations can be provided for income tax purposes.
